The Sheep

We raise Navajo-Churro sheep here on the farm. We used to raise dairy sheep, but opted for a more desert-hardy breed and one that could produce meat, fiber, and hides as that’s where we’ve found the most consistent market for our products. We rotationally graze our animals around our 10 acres, while also incorporating compost spreading, native grass re-seeding, and bale grazing to improve the quality of our pastures. Our ewes lamb in the early spring and we process lambs for meat in late fall.
